Stories from the Hill with Brian Holstein
Event Description
Join the Guelph Guild of Storytellers at the Guelph Civic Museum on Wednesday, March 7 for an evening of tales – this time many of them true. Featured teller Brian Holstein will draw on his Spirit Walk performances and tell about some of the famous, not-so-famous and indeed infamous characters of Guelph’s past: The hard-living “Tiger” Dunlop, John McLean, who prevented the sale of western Canada to the US; Theo Bates and the Paragon (Baseball) Scoreboard atop the bell Piano Factory. Perhaps there will be time to mention Mayor “Hippo” Harry Westoby, or Charles Romaine and his pursuits of bootleggers, arresting them at gunpoint.
Joining Brian will be fellow members of the Guild with their stories.
As always, admission is free, but donations are gracefully accepted.
