Why We Can’t Wait is more than a celebration of excellent jazz and blues. It is a reminder that throughout history people living on the margins are asked to wait to receive what is rightfully due everyone, such as being recognized as humans, voting rights, and access to the necessities of life.

This concert and documentary will challenge us to reflect on how each of us can contribute towards a fair and just society that recognizes the inherent dignity of all individuals. Each of the host organizations works towards this higher goal in their daily work and believes that by working together this dream can be reached.
