Guelph Home Sales Back In Line With 10-year Average in July
Guelph home sales numbered 290 units in July 2018. This was an increase of 24.5% from a slow month of July 2017, and stood in line with the 10-year average for the month according to the Guelph and District Association of REALTORS®.
On a year-to-date basis, home sales totalled 1,805 units over the first seven months of the year. This was a decrease of 17% from the same period in 2017.
“Sales were back running at average levels in July, with the big year-over-year gain reflecting the recent improvement in demand but also a very quiet month of July last year,” said Kristi Mercier, President of the Guelph and District Association of REALTORS®. “It marks a second straight month of improving sales activity after a slow start to the year.”
The MLS® Home Price Index (HPI), tracks price trends far more accurately than is possible using average or median price measures. The overall MLS® HPI benchmark price for Guelph and District in July 2018 was $437,200, up 4.1% compared to the same month in 2017.
