Guelph Home Sales Remain At Record Levels To Start 2017
According to statistics provided by the MLS® System of the Guelph and District Association of REALTORS®, home sales numbered 204 units in January 2017. This was up 16.6% from the same month last year.
Sales of all types of properties in the Guelph region numbered 236 units in January, up 24.9% from a year earlier.
“With supply lower than it has ever been, January saw enough new listings to enable sales to set yet another new monthly record,” said Kim Hannah, President of the Guelph and District Association of REALTORS®. “New supply will play a critical role in how the market plays out this year, because without those new listings there is only about a month’s worth of supply left out there for sale.”
The average price of homes sold in January 2017 was $475,717, jumping 19.4% from levels in January 2016.
The dollar volume of residential sales in January 2017 was $97 million, up 39.2% from the same month in 2016.
The total value of all properties sold in January 2017 was $109.5 million, an increase of 36.3% on a year-over-year basis.
