Guelph Home Sales Remain At Subdued Levels in March 2018
According to statistics provided by the MLS® System of the Guelph and District Association of REALTORS®, home sales numbered 240 units in March 2018. This dropped 34.2% from March 2017 and was the lowest level of sales for the month since 2002.
On a year-to-date basis, home sales totaled 596 units over the first three months of the year. This dropped 31.4% from the record seen in 2017.
“March marked the third consecutive month of quieter than average sales activity in the region, as many buyers have moved to the sidelines to wait out the uncertainty surrounding recent policy changes,” said Kristi Mercier, President of the Guelph and District Association of REALTORS®. “Despite fewer deals being made compared to last year’s record levels, with the market still quite tight the overall MLS® HPI is once again trending upward, just not as fast as it was last spring when the market was even tighter.”
