Guelph Home Sales Rise To New October Record

 In Real Estate Market News

According to statistics provided by the MLS® System of the Guelph and District Association of REALTORS®, home sales numbered 266 units in October 2016. This was up 14.2 per cent from the same month last year.

Sales of all types of properties in the Guelph region numbered 294 units in October, up 19 per cent from a year earlier.

Over the first 10 months of the year a record 2,870 homes have traded hands. This is up 8.5 per cent from the same period in 2015.

“October marked the fifth time this year that monthly home sales have set a record for their respective month, setting the market on the path for a record year in 2016,” said Jeff Van de Vorst, President of the Guelph and District Association of REALTORS®. “It’s been a year of many records. 2016 will also be a record low year for supply. The combination of record high demand and record low supply means prices continue to hit new records as well as buyers compete for what listings are left out there.”
