The Guelph Games 2020 will be a 4-day, multi-sport Games for participants of varying levels to compete in 7 different sports. Over 1,000 athletes plus their coaches, families, and friends are expected in Guelph to celebrate sport and the city’s many offerings.

The University of Guelph will provide its first-class facilities for the majority of the events, and the downtown core will play a big part as well. The spotlight will be on Beach Volleyball on Carden Street in Guelph’s downtown as the athletes compete as part of a daily Festival of Sports.

Masters Games have become a global movement, encouraging athletes 30 years and up to strive for success in the sport of their choice and promoting a daily active and healthy lifestyle. The ethos is a competitive yet friendly environment welcoming and encouraging of all participants, regardless of age, race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and ability.

The Guelph Games supports the Canadian Sport for Life philosophy to improve the quality of sport and physical activity in Canada. Sport and physical activity offer rich benefits to Canadian society through improved health (mental and physical), stronger communities, higher sporting achievement, and stronger national identity.
